Introducing the Peragon Retractable Aluminum Truck Bed Cover

It’s often said that great design takes something ordinary, and turns it into something extraordinary. At Peragon, we’ve lived that out in how we’ve transformed something as simple as a cover for a truck bed into a product that lets you do even more with your truck than ever before. A Peragon truck bed cover is functional, tough, and visually appealing all at the same time, and yet we haven’t sacrificed a single detail in designing and making it.

When the cover is closed, the first thing you’ll notice is that our design is almost unnoticeable. It doesn’t compete with the truck; it completes the truck. The finish on the aluminum hints at the remarkable level of protection for your truck bed, and everything inside. When you open the cover, it retracts on sealed ball bearings into a space of just 6 inches, leaving the entire rest of the bed free. It’s flexibility that puts you in control for whatever you’re using it for. For those times when even 6” is too much, you can quick release the cover, without tools, in under 30 seconds. Our passion is to create a product that provides robust security when you need it, and completely disappears when you don’t.

We built this truck bed cover from two main components. These are the guide rails, as well as the panels that make up the cover itself. Both of these are made entirely out of powder-coated aluminum, which creates a bed cover that’s extremely tough yet remarkably light. The guide rails are first extruded, and then CNC machined within thousands of an inch for a perfect fit. We also make a satin black powder coat onto the aluminum for an automotive quality appearance that will outlast your truck. It’s a very precise and intense manufacturing process, and this is only half the product.

The cover itself is comprised of solid aluminum panels. We take sheets of aircraft grade aluminum, cut them with a laser, and then hydraulically form the one-piece panel structure using a computer controlled press. Sealing out the elements is accomplished with EPDM rubber seals. These seals also isolate the components so that there isn’t even a chance of a rattle. The result is a set of panels, which are very light, impressively strong, and perfectly sized so that when the entire cover is assembled the panels all fit together. It looks great.

A finished Peragon truck bed cover is the result of our vision of a cover that we want to own and use ourselves. We wanted something that’s robust, looks great and doesn’t require constant maintenance, and gives us the flexibility to use our truck bed on our terms. We’ve spent over a decade refining the cover into the product it is today. Throughout it all, we’ve taken extreme time and care to design, manufacture, and fine-tune the quality of this product to create something that’s perfect for your truck.
